What are MAX Awards?

The objective of MAX Awards is to recognize Muslims who have demonstrated significant achievement, leadership, and commitment to serving their industry, communities and Canada at large.

MAX Awards offer a rare glimpse into the skills, talents and cultural strengths of a dynamic community of Canadian Muslims, whose continued efforts help build a strong workforce, energize the economy, and expand our combined cultural horizons.

We are delighted to invite you to help us carry on the rich annual tradition of awarding individuals who have made a lasting impact on the Canadian Muslim community.

A total of 10 MAX Awards have been selected across 2022 and 2023. Winners of all 2022 and 2023 Awards will be released and announced at the in-person MAX Gala event in September 2023!

The Artist of the Year award recognizes an individual who has demonstrated significant achievement within the creative arts.

The Charity of the Year Award recognizes a charity or not-for-profit that has had a significant impact in their target community.

Dynamic Leader Award

The Dynamic Leader Award recognizes an individual that has developed a new, cutting-edge, or inventive solution to address a community-based or business challenge to help overcome disruption, lead transformation, and provide a meaningful impact throughout the Pandemic years and beyond.

The Community Excellence Award recognizes a group or individual who has demonstrated significant service and dedication to the Muslim community and Canada.

Friend of the Community

The Friend of the Community Award recognizes a non-Muslim individual who has demonstrated outstanding service to the Canadian Muslim community. The MAX Friend of the Community will have assisted in the achievement of certain strategic goals in key areas of importance to the community.

Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes and celebrates individuals that embody commitment to excellence in professional achievement, and service, to not only the Canadian Muslim community but humanity at large which will have a deep and lasting impact on generations to come.

The Professional Excellence Award recognizes a Muslim who has demonstrated significant achievement, leadership, and made a positive impact in their community.

Trailblazer in Science, Research, and Technology Award

Awarded to an inspiring innovator whose groundbreaking work pushes the boundaries of human knowledge, science, research, engineering, and/or technology. This individual has made extensive contributions locally and/or globally, significantly benefiting its sector by advancing people, products, or projects and creating an overall positive impact.

Judging Process

Following public nominations, finalists for each category will be chosen by our esteemed panel of judges who have spent a great deal of time and commitment to scoring all nominations. Independent judges are selected based on their work experience, level of education, and contributions to the Canadian community. Judge evaluations in combination with public voting will be used to determine the winners for each category. Your vote will help us recognize inspirational Muslim leaders who have demonstrated significant achievement, leadership, and commitment to serving their community.

Winners of all 2022 and 2023 Awards will be announced at the MAX Gala in Fall 2023!
