The panelists

Dr. Esther Bailey

She teaches at C. T. Bauer College of Business focuses on entrepreneurship, student-led consulting through the SURE program, and the growing role of artificial intelligence in education and the future workforce. Drawing from her experience as an immigrant she brings a thoughtful perspective on access, opportunity, and innovation.

Dr. David Thanoon

He is an AI Research Manager in the oil and gas industry, he previously served as the Responsible AI Team Lead at Schlumberger, where he specialized in seismic imaging and applied research. With dual PhDs in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, he brings deep expertise in artificial intelligence and energy innovation, while also serving the community as the founder of Amaanah Lions, a soccer program supporting refugees in Houston since 2012.

Dr. Irfan Nathani

He is a physician with experience across hospital medicine, primary care, rehabilitation, and aesthetic medicine. Known for his compassionate and patient-centered approach, he is passionate about wellness, healthcare innovation, and improving outcomes through evidence-based care. He completed his medical education at St. George’s University School of Medicine and his residency at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Following the panel, attendees enjoyed dedicated time for networking in a relaxed, café-style setting
