Uzma Jalaluddin
Uzma Jalaluddin is a GTA writer, columnist, public speaker and playwright. Her first novel, Ayesha At Last, is a retelling of Pride and Prejudice set within the Toronto Muslim community. The novel was featured on The Today Show, named a Goodreads Choice Award Finalist, and was the Cosmopolitan UK 2019 Book of the Year. It was also optioned for film by Pascal Pictures. Her second novel, Hana Khan Carries On, will be published in April 2021. Uzma Jalaluddin has written a culture and parenting column for The Toronto Star since 2015, and has also contributed to The Atlantic. She is currently working on a funny play for The Silk Road Institute in Montreal. Uzma uses her words to create beautifully written stories while also incorporating the Muslim Community.
